Hi there,
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection caused by the dengue virus, which belongs to the Flaviviridae family.
This disease is primarily transmitted to humans through the bites of infected female mosquitoes, specifically Aedes aegypti and, to a lesser extent, Aedes albopictus.
Symptoms: Dengue infection can range from asymptomatic or mild symptoms to severe and potentially life-threatening forms. Common symptoms include high fever, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, joint and muscle pain, rash, and mild bleeding.
Transmission: Aedes mosquitoes transmit the dengue virus. These mosquitoes breed in standing water in containers, and tir peak biting periods are early in the morning and late in the afternoon.
Prevention:
Vector Control: Controlling mosquito populations through measures like eliminating breeding sites, using insecticides, and implementing mosquito control programs.
Protective Clothing: Wearing long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and using mosquito repellents.
Bed Nets: Sleeping under bed nets treated with insecticides.
Regards
