 The French Revolution (1789–1799) was a time of revolutionary social and political upheaval in France. The Revolution began with the storming of the Bastille prison on 14 July 1789 and ended with the rise of Napoleon in 1799.
Reason- There was a lot of discontent among the people, inequality between rich and poor, imposition of tax on a particular class, their participation in general estate election means people wanted equality, freedom, democracy.

Result - Monarchy ended in France and democracy was established.
