Bhagat Singh was a prominent freedom fighter and revolutionary in the Indian independence movement against British colonial rule. He was born on September 28, 1907 in Banga, Punjab, British India and became a symbol of courage and sacrifice in India's fight for independence. Bhagat Singh was influenced by the non-cooperation movement led by Mahatma Gandhi, but later turned to more radical methods in the quest for a free and independent India. He became a member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA), a revolutionary organization that aimed to overthrow British rule through armed struggle. One of the important incidents related to Bhagat Singh was the Lahore Conspiracy Case. On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh, along with his associates Rajguru and Sukhdev, was killed by Deputy Superintendent of Police J.P. Saunders was hanged by the British colonial authorities for his involvement in the murder. Bhagat Singh's slogan, "Inquilab Zindabad", became widely known and was a rallying cry for those seeking independence.
