The audible range for human ear is from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Any sound frequency of the range higher than 20,000 Hz are called ultrasounds which can be heard by certain animals like bats. On the other hand, any sound frequency lesser than 20 Hz are called infrasounds. Both ultrasound and infrasound is inaudible to the human ear. However, for animals the audible range can be very wide. Some ground dwelling animals like rats can hear sounds from 200 Hz to 90kHz. However, in general,most of the animals can hear in a sound range from 100 Hz to 1 kHz
