Lysosomes are membrane-enclosed organelles that contain hydrolytic enzymes which are capable of breaking down proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, and lipids. These are called as 'suicidal bags'.

If the cell gets damaged, lysosomes bursts and release digestive enzymes. The released enzymes then digest their own cell and ultimately the cell dies.
