Question:
mensuration
Answer:

Mensuration is a partial branch of the mathematics. It is derived from the Greek word Mensuration which means to measure.

In this branch, we deal with measurement of geometrical magnitudes like areas of surfaces and volume of solids.

Mensuration is divided into two parts:

1. Plane Mensuration which deals with the measurement of solids, perimeter and areas of the plane.

Example: Triangle, polygon, etc.

2. Solid measurement which deals with the measurement of surface areas and volume of solid.

Example: cube, cuboid, sphere, cone, cylinder, etc.
