Heterotrophs are organisms that uses organic carbon for growth and thus are consumers in food chains and obtain organic carbons by eating other Heterotrophs or autotrophs. They cannot prepare their own food, and dependent on other for their nutrition.

Parasitic nutrition is a type of heterotrophic nutrition . In this, organsims obtain food from other living organism, the host, with the host receiving no benefit from parasite. When a parasite is present inside the body of the host, it is known as endoparasites. The parasite suck and feed on the blood of the host. Eg. Tapewrom.
