Question:
a road whose width is 7m surrounds a circular path whose circumference is 352m. find the area of the road.
Answer:

Let radius of the circular track is r

Given, circumference of the circular track = 352

=> 2πr = 352

=> πr = 352/2

=> πr = 176

=> (22/7) * r = 176

=> 22r/7 = 176

=> r/7 = 176/22

=> r/7 = 8

=> r = 7*8

=> r = 56

Now, radius of the circular track including road R = 56 + 7 = 63

So, area of the road = π(R2 - r2 )

=> area of the road = π(632 - 562 )

=> area of the road = π(63 - 56)*(63 + 56)  {since (a2 - b2 ) = (a - b)*(a + b) }

=> area of the road = (22/7)*7*119

=> area of the road = 22*119

=> area of the road = 2618 m2
