Let us take some examples for this.

Ex. Find the sum by suitable rearrangement:

(a) 837 + 208 + 363 (b) 2 * 1768 * 50

Solution:

(a) 837 + 208 + 363 

= (837 + 363) + 208

= 1200 + 208

= 1408

(b)  2 * 1768 * 50

= 2 * 50 * 1768

= 100 * 1768

= 176800

So, we add or subtract or multiply or divide the numbers in such a way that we get

the number in the form of 100, 1000, etc. We do in this way so that our calculation

becomes easy.
