m = Ɵ / Ɵ0 = AB / CB divided by AB / CB1
= AB / CB * CB1 / AB
= CB1 / CB = D/u0 -------Eqn (1)
We know, 1/v – 1/u = 1/f
Put v = -D and u = -u0
-1/D + 1/u0 = 1/f
Multiply both sides by D
-1 + D/u0 = D/f
D/u0 = 1 + D/f --------------------Eqn (2)
Hence, m = Ɵ / Ɵ0 = D/u0 = 1 + D/f
