Refracting telescope- These make use of lenses to view distant objects.These are of two types.
1. Astronomical telescope- It is used to see heavenly objects like su, planets.
2. Terrestrial telescope- It is used to see distant objects on the surface of the earth.
Reflecting telescopes- These make use of converging mirrors to view the distant objects.
eg. Newtonian and Cassegrain telescope.
