Applications of refraction of light-

1.Apparent flattening of the sun at sunrise and sunset- The sun near the horizon appears flattened due to atmospheric refraction.

2. Apparent shift in the position of the sun at sunrise and sunset- The sun is visible before actual sunrise and after actual sunset due to the atmospheric refraction.

3. Twinkling of stars- we see the twinkling stars, but the stars are not really twinkle but appears to twinkling due to the atmospheric refraction.
