Construction of a cyclotron-

Cyclotron consists of two small, hollow, metallic half cylinders, which are called dees.

Dees are mounted inside a vaccum chamber between the poles of strong electromagnet.

These dees are connected to the source of high frequency alternating voltage.

The beam of charged particles to be accelerated is injected into the dees near their centre.

The charged particles pulled out of the dees by a deflecting plate.
