Consider a thin spherical shell of charge of radius R with uniform surface charge density σ .
The electric field E is radial at any point.To find the electric field inside the shell we consider a gaussian surface inside the shell ,of radius r.
As all the charge spread on the surface of shell so,charge enclosed by the gaussian surface is zero.
q=0
Flux through the gaussian surface,
Φ = E×4π r2
Applying gauss theorem,
Φ = q /εo
E×4π r2=0
E=0
So,inside the shell the electric field will be zero.
