Let ua assume that there are four charges on a given body and that are : q, -q, -2q and 4q. Now if you want to know the net charge on that body then you can simply add all those charges.
Q(net)=q+(-q)+(-2q)+4q = +2q
Therefore the net charge is +2q. This is the additive nature of charge.
