Question:
miscllaneous example 37. probability class . in this question i do not understand why p(A/B1)= 0.9x0.9.why it is multiplied two times. as probability of product is 90 percent already.
Answer:

Given that if a machine is correctly set up, it produces 90% accepted items.

Now, P(A/E1 ) = probability that machine produces 2 acceptable items if it have correct setup = 90% * 90%

=> P(A/E1 ) = (90/100)*(90/100)

=> P(A/E1 ) = 0.9 * 0.9

=> P(A/E1 ) = 0.81

Since, machine produces 2 acceptable items,

So, 0.9 is multiplied two times.

Same for P(A/E2 ) = 0.4 * 0.4

Hope you got the point.
