Question:
a solution is prepared by dissolving5 .64 of glucose in 60g of water calculate the mole fraction of water
Answer:

Number of mole in glucose solution = 5.64/180 = 0.03 moles

Number of moles of water = 60/18.02 = 3.33 moles

Water = 60 g = 60 ml = 0.06 litres

Therefore, mole fraction = moles of solute/ total number of moles in the solution

= 0.03 / (0.03 + 3.33 )

= 0.009
