Question:
what is oxidation of alcohol
Answer:

Alcohol oxidation is an organic chemistry reaction. There are different products formed from the oxidation of different types of alcohols. Primary alcohols (R-CH2-OH) upon oxidation yields the corresponding aldehydes (R-CHO) or carboxylic acids (R-CO2H). Oxidation of secondary alcohols (R1R2CH-OH) normally gives corresponding ketones (R1R2C=O). Tertiary alcohols (R1R2R3C-OH), however, are resistant to oxidation.
