To understand the term we must know what is meant by inheritance.

Inheritance refers to the transmission of characters from the parents to the offspring. 

The biomolecules which gets transmitted (nucleic acids) during inheritance as well as the biomolecules which help in the transmission of of such molecules form the molecular aspect of inheritance.

Thus, it means we shall be learning about all those biomolecules which participate in the transmission of characters from the parents to the offspring.
