Earth is believed to have formed 4.6 billion years ago. It was formed due to the condensation under gravity of a huge and unimaginable amounts of gases and dust particles. The elements in these gases also underwent strong collisions among themselves to give rise to hard, rocky substances with condensed to form the base of earth. Over several billion years of such continuing events, it gave shape to a planet like earth, as we see it today.
