Biomagnification is the cumulative increasing concentration of a substance, such as a toxic chemical like pesticides, metals etc. as it moves up the food chain. It is also known as bioamplification or biological magnification. Agricultural, industrial, or human waste when pours into the ocean, rivers, sewage etc that causes biomagnification. As a result, these toxins settle down on the sea floor and are consumed by bottom feeders.
