Thermodynamics is a branch of physics which deals with the study of transformation of heat energy into other forms of energy. The study also includes the other forms of energy getting transformed into heat energy.

In this study, the gas is considered as macroscopic and not microscopic. Hence, the macroscopic parameters like pressure, volume, temperature, mass and composition of gas are considered in the study of thermodynamics.
