Question:
The air inside a tyre pump occupies a volume of 130CC at a pressure of 1 atm .If the volume decreases to 44CC ,what is the pressure of ATM inside the pump?
Answer:

P1 x V1 = P2 x V2

Where,

P1 = 1 atm

V1 = 130 cc =130 cm3

P2 = ?

V2 = 44 cc = 44 cm3

Or, 1atm x 130 cm3 = P2 x 44 cm3

Or, P2 = 1atm x 130 cm3 / 44 cm3 = 2.95 atm

Hence, the pressure inside the pump is 2.95 atm.
