Question:
One mole of oxygen of volume 1 litre at 4 atm pressure to attain 1 atm pressure by result of isothermal expansion. Find work done by the gas.
Answer:

Work done in isothermal expansion = W = 2.303 RT log10 (P1/P2)

R = 0.0821 Atm/mol/K

T = 298K

P1/P2 = 4/1 = 4

Also, 16.1 L = 1 Atm

Hence, W = 2.303 * 0.0821 * 298 * log10 (4) * 16.1

               = 2.303 * 0.0821 * 298 * 0.6020 * 16.1 = 33.91 * 16.1 J

               = 545.95 J
