Question:
Due to fire accident in a building, the room's temperature started increasing .At what temperature will the cylinder of 18.4 litre capacity at room temperature explode .(the maximum volume the cylinder can reach is 36.8 litre
Answer:

This is based on Charle’s law. According the Charle’s law, V1 / T1 = V2  / T2

Let us consider room temperature to be 200C. Hence, in Kelvin scale T1 = 20 + 273 = 293K

V1 = 18.4 lit

V2  = 36.8 lit

Going by the fact, V1 / T1 = V2  / T2

We get 18.4 / 293 = 36.8 / T2

T2 = (293 * 36.8 ) / 18.4

    = 586 K = 586 – 273 = 3130C
