The Direction of angular velocity ω is along the axis of rotation.

Suppose any particle is moving at this circular path, the blue arrow is showing the direction of rotation.
So, the direction of ω is along the axis of rotation, and perpendicular to the plane of rotation.
There is a rule to find the direction of ω.
The Right hand rule- It states that when we curl the fingers of our right hand in the direction of rotation, then the thumb gives the direction of ω, along the axis of rotation.
