Question:
Two rings have their moment of inertia in the ratio 4:1 and their diameter are in the ratio 4:1 the ratio of their masses will be???
Answer:

As we know that , the moment of inertia for ring is-

I = MR2

Where, M is mass and R is radius of ring.

Given, I1/I2 = 4/1

I1 moment of inertia of first ring.

I2  moment of inertia of second ring.

So, I1/I2 = M1 (R1)2 /M2 (R2)2

I1/I2 = M1 (D1)2 /M2 (D2)2

D is diameter.

So, M1/M2 = (I1/I2).(D2/D1)

Therefore,

M1/M2 =(4/1).(1/4)2

M1/M2 = 1/4
