When the bird flies, it strikes the air with wings A and B towards O along vector AO and vector BO. We know that action and reaction are equal and opposite. Therefore, the air strikes the wings in opposite direction, which is along vector OA and vector OB, resultant of which is in upward direction which balances the weight of the bird.
