Question:
An insect trapped in a circular groove of 12 cm moves along the groove steadily and completes 7 revolution in 100sec. Is the accleration vector a constant vector
Answer:

Frequency of revolution of Insect = No of revolution completed in one second = 7100=0.07S−17100=0.07S1

Angular Speed =  2πn = 2 x 22/7 x 0.07 = 0.442 πn

                                        =2 x 22/7 x 0.07 = 0.44 rad/sec

 Linear speed = ωr=0.44 x ωr = 0.44 x 0.12 = 0.0528 meter/sec

In this case acceleration is not a constant vector as direction of velocity is continuous changing.

This is centripetal acceleration and its magnitude is = ω2r = 0.0232 radsec-2
