Species is one of the most basic biological classifications used for organisms. It is a large group of organisms who can interbreed among themselves sexually, however, they may differ among themselves in terms of morphology, DNA or the ecological niche.
The main aspect of species is that they are hypothesized to have the same ancestors from one genus, based on similarities. The similarity of species is based on comparisons of physical attributes, and where available and also their DNA sequences.
