The vascular cambium is a modified plant tissue located between the xylem and phloem in the stems and roots of a vascular plants, and is the source of both the secondary xylem growth. It is a cylinder of unspecialized meristematic cells that divide to give new cells which then specialize to formsecondary vascular tissues.

Vascular cambium is seen in dicots, but not in monocots.
