what will happen if one of the stage of cell cycle is skipped ? will there be any mutations occurring ?
Answer:
Not always. It depends that which stage of the cell cycle is missed. If the separation and distribution of DNA has already taken place (end of metaphase and beginning of anaphase) then it will not cause any mutation most likely. Before mitosis, if nay satge is missed, there is a greater chance of getting a mutated cell.
