Cell theory- This is given by Schleiden and Schwann and many other scientist like Virchow has a contribution in this. The postulates of this theory are-

1. All living organisms are composed of one or more cells.

2. The cell is the basic unit of structure and organization in organism.

3. Cells arise from pre existing cells.
