mam in inspiratory capacity formula why r.v. is not mentioned ...should it be added, i mean should IC=IRV+TV+RV and if not than why? i am a little confused...

TIDAL VOLUME (TV) is the volume that can be "inspired" and expired during normal bresthing.
INSPIRATORY RESERVE VOLUME (IRV) is an extra amount of air that can be" inspired" forcibly after a normal inspiration.
RESIDUAL VOLUME (RV) is the volume of the air that always remain in the lungs after forcible expiration.
So.the total inspiratory capacity (IC) is total volume that can be "inspired" or inhaled after a normal expiration. So. IC = TV+ IRV .
In IC total inspired capacoty is included not that remains in the lungs (RV)
