NCERT needs to be read and understood line-by-line. It may happen, that to understand a single line one needs to understand an altogether new and complete concept, for which the student must refer to some good reference books as well. So, it would be better if one just begins by going through the topics in the NCERT first, refer to those topics in a reference book next and then revisit the NCERT again.

Remember, to revise the entire concepts read from different sources through NCERT only, especially if you are NEET aspirant. And learn only the data provided by NCERT.

Moreover, as far as Biology is concerned, please try to learn and understand each and every diagram as well as tables given in NCERT.
