Ascospores is a sexual fungal spores produces by ascomycetes are formed as a result of sexual reproduction between two different ascomycetes fungi. Ascospores are specific to ascomycetes since they are produced inside ascomycetes specific special structure called ascus.

Basidiospores is a sexual spore produced by basidiomycetes fungi. It includes mushrooms, rusts , smut and shelf fungi which are commonly known as club fungi. They are produced inside basidia.Basidia is a special fungal cells which develop externally from the hyphae.
