Explain What is Heartwood,Sapwood,Softwood & Hardwood.
How they all are different from each other? What Constitutes them
Answer:
Hardwood- contains vessels , trachieds less than5% ; known as porous woods eg. Teak wood.
Softwood- does not contain vessels or pores ; known as non porous woods eg pine
Heartwood- it is dead, inner wood and darken in colour. It is non functional.
Sapwood- it is living , outrmost part of a woody stem. It is lighter. It is functional, conducting part of wood.
