When white light falls on leaves, all the colours of white light are absorbed by the leaves except green, the leaves reflects the green colour so the leaves are of green colour.

But when we see the same leaves in red light, they seems black. Reason is, the leaves absorbed that red colour and reflects nothing so, the colour of leaves seems totally black.
