Vena cavae (sing. vena cava) are large veins that carry deoxygenated blood from various body organs to the heart.

There are two vena cavae in the human body:

1. Superior vena cava - This major vein brings deoxygenated blood from the head, neck, chest and the arm regions to the heart.

2. Inferior vena cava - This major vein brings deoxygenated blood from the abdominal region and the lower limbs of the body to the heart.
