Question:
Function of pepsin
Answer:

Hi there,

Hope you are doing good.

Pepsin is an enzyme which starts the digestion of proteins in stomach.

This enzyme is secreted by gastric chief cells as an inactive zymogen called pepsinogen.

HCl secreted by parietal cells within the stomach lining lowers the pH (1.5 to 2) of the stomach which activated pepsinogen to pepsin.

Regards
