Question:
A parallel combination of three resistors takes a current of 7.5 ampere from a 30 volt supplies.If the two resistors , are 10 ohm and 12 ohm , find the third one.
Answer:

Given, voltage = 30 V

Current = 7.5 amp

two resistors of resistance 10 and 12 ohm.

Let the third unknown resistor is Runknown.

From the Ohms law-

V=IR

So,R= V/I

R= 30/7.5 = 4 Ω

Where R is the equivalent resistance

Three resistors are in parallel combination -

1/4 = 1/10 + 1/12 + 1/Runknown

1/Runknown = 1/15

and Runknown = 15  Ω
