Question:
A combination consists of three resistors in series. Four similar sets are connected in parallel . If the resistance of each resistor is 2 ohm , find the resistance of this combination .
Answer:

re

There are four sets of resistors in parallel, each set consist of three resistors of 2 Ω.

Equivalent resistance of first set= 2+2+2 = 6 Ω               (Three resistors are in series)

Similarly, resistance of 2nd , 3rd and 4th set are, 6Ω ,6Ω and 6 Ω

So, equivalent resistance of network = (1/6)+(1/6)+(1/6)+(1/6)

= 3/2 Ω          (Four sets are in parallel)
