Question:
IS POLAR COVALENT BOND AND IONIC BOND SAME ?
Answer:

In ionic bonds the electrons are transferred between the participating atoms. Therefore an electron leaves one atom to join another.

The participating metal atom loses electrons and turn into positively charged cation (electron donor). The participating nonmetal receives those electrons and turn into negatively charged anion (electron acceptor).

In covalent bonds the valence electrons are shared between the participating atoms. This bond is formed with atoms having same affinity for electrons.
