Given length of the roof l = 22 m
Breadth of the roof b = 20 m
Let the height of the water on the roof is h m
Now, volume of the water falling on the roof = l*b*h = 22*20*h
Radius of the cylindrical vessel R = 2/2 = 1 m
Height of the water in the cylindrical vessel = 3.5 m
Volume of the water in the cylindrical vessel = πR2 H = (22/7) *1*1*3.5 = 22*0.5 = 11
Now, Volume of the water falling on the roof = Volume of the water in the cylindrical vessel
=> 22*20*h = 11
=> 2*20*h = 1
=> 40h = 1
=> h = 1/40
=> h = 0.025 m
=> h = 0.025*100 cm
=> h = 2.5 cm
So, 2.5 cm of rain falls on the roof.
