=> x+6 = 3y + 18
=> x-3y = 18-6

x-3 = 9(y-3)
=> x-3 = 9y - 27
=> x-9y = -27 + 3
=> x-9y = -24 ..............2
After solving equation 1 and 2, we get
x =30 and y = 6
So present age of father = 30 years
present age of son = 6 years
