Given mass energy of an electron (m0c2)= 0.51 MeV and
Velocity (v) = 0.8 c
K.E. of the electron = mc2? m0c2 But
M = m0/√1-v2/c2 = m0/√1-(0.8)2/c2 = m0/√0.36 = m0/0.6
Now, mc2 = 0.51/0.6 = 0.85 MeV
SO, K E = 0.85 – 0.51 = 0.34 Mev
