Question:
What are artificial sweetening agents ? Give two examples.
Answer:

Artificial sweetening agents are natural or synthesized chemicals which can produce the same sweetness as normal sugar would do, but in very low quantities itself as compared to the requirement of sugar for the same purpose. Thus, these substances do not add calories to the body and they are excreted as such. Therefore they are not harmful to the body.

Examples, saccharin, sucrolose, aspartame are considered as artificial sweetners.
