Question:
Why is the sky red at the time of sunrise and sunset
Answer:

The visible lights rays are white and consist of seven colours – violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red (VIBGYOR). As we know that red has the maximum wavelength and is therefore scattered the least. On the other hand, violet and blue colors are of small wavelength and are mostly scattered. During sunrise and sunset, when the suns rays falls at an angle such that the light scattering phenomenon is observed, then, the earths dust, gas and air particles scatter the suns light in different directions. Since violet and blue lights gets scattered the most, but red light gets scattered the least, we see the sky red in color.
